For many years, the Welsh have made pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk - and each year, during July, the South Wales Pilgrimage has taken hundreds of pilgrims to that place known as England's Nazareth. Some people come as part of a larger parish group, whilst others come alone and find great friendship and company!
The pilgrimage is a joyful few days of vibrant worship, great preaching, good fun and deep fellowship. Walsingham has been the destination of pilgrimage since the 11th century and remains, today, one of the nation's favourite holy places.
At the heart of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham is the Holy House, a replica of the house at Nazareth where Mary was greeted by the angel Gabriel and accepted God's plan for her and the world. It is a place where many people feel at home too and where, for a few days each year, we are able to experience in a new way that intimate love of Jesus whom Mary holds in her arms.
So, welcome to this website! Here you will be able to find out more about our pilgrimage to the Shrine and some of the celebrations we hold throughout the year closer to home. Through our website we hope to encourage more and more people to make pilgrimage to the Shrine at Walsingham. Please revisit us soon as we plan to add more and more information and resources!
